2021 Renault Twingo 1.0 SCe Limited (Great Deal - Moving)

10.500, EUR

I bought this brand new Twingo in 2021 while I was living in Portugal. The car was purchased from a Renault dealer in Coimbra and was brought to Renault for all of its services - I have the original manual as well as the receipts of all services. The car still only has 20,140km and is basically in brand-new condition.

The car has always been kept in a garage, especially during 2022 during which I was traveling for 7 months and left the car at home. Since arriving here in NL in late 2022, I have found that I almost never drove the car and it has spent more time in the garage than on the road. It was imported in January of 2023 and was officially registered with RDW on June 16 (the import process was quite difficult and ended up taking a few months.)

I suspended the registration as soon as it was registered as we were driving the car so rarely that it did not make sense to pay for the road tax and insurance. Also the process for getting a Dutch license in place of my US one is inhibitively difficult. Suffice to say, the car has barely been driven. It still starts right up like a brand new car. It is completely legal to drive in NL and has all of the associated paperwork.

As Twingo lovers know, this generation of the Twingo had AC issues. The AC on my Twingo already burned out (while on my way to The Netherlands from Portugal in the middle of summer no less!) and the new, updated AC system was installed by Bochane Renault here in Nijmegen while the car was still under warranty. This AC issue is something you will have to deal with on this generation of Twingo, so having one where the fix has already been done should save you time and a good amount of money - it took Renault almost two weeks to replace mine as the part was out of stock, the entire time of which I did not have my car. I believe they said it would have cost around €500 had it been out of warranty.

Other than the AC issue, the only other problems with the car are a small smudge on the passenger side that could probably be buffed out by someone more mechanically inclined and a weird little bend/crack on the driver door. I have included photos of the marks. The interior of the car is like new, save for a few small spots of wear and tear that are expected from a car that has been used for two years. It has never had a mechanical problem and always starts right up, even in winter.

I have loved every minute with this car. The five speed gearbox is super fun to drive - it handles like a little go-kart! And the gas mileage is fantastic. However, my father recently passed away and I have made the decision to return to the United States for the next few years to help my mother (I am an American expat). I thought about bringing the Twingo with me, I love it so much, but I cannot justify the insane costs of shipping and then importing the car to the US.

2021 Twingos with this low mileage are always priced at at least €13,500. If you search Marktplaats right now, you will see the same model selling for €13,750. However, because I am leaving in two months, and because the car has not been registered for more than three months, I am unable to sell the car to a dealer or wijkopenautos, etc. To be quite honest I am scared that I will be unable to sell the car before I need to leave.

For that reason, I am setting the price at a firm €10,500. This is a big loss for me, but given the situation I don't have much of a choice. This is the same amount that was offered to me by two different dealers. As we say in the US, my loss is your gain.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions about the car. Unfortunately I don't speak Dutch, so any calls or messages will need to be in English. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Serious offers only. This is already a great deal on a like-new car, so please don't try to take advantage of my situation and low-ball me. Thank.
