The role
For this interim role Damen Naval is looking for an Automation Engineer who can start on a temporary basis for the periode of one to two years.
As Automation Engineer you will be working on a broad variety of tasks in the field Automation and will be involved from the very first (proposal) phase in the project to perform design proposals and calculations. During the execution of the project, you will work in a team of several engineers in order to deliver the requested engineering documents. You will implement deep technical and practical knowledge into solid and innovative designs.
As Automation Engineer (Project Based), you willContribute to the engineering process by developing the required deliverables, such as specification documents, functional descriptions, schematic drawings and test/validation plansPerform the required technical calculations to prove the designParticipate in design checks and reviews to guarantee the required qualityPerform cost analysis on received offers, in close cooperation with the Purchase departmentEnsure full compliance to all applicable requirements and specifications, imposed by Class and the customerManage vendors and subcontractors to get their timely contribution to the projectDevelop and describe standards and working methodsOffer support for producing and submitting proposals to our customersOffer technical support or commissioning activities to projects under contractAs Automation Engineer (Project Based), you need to haveBachelor or Master level in Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, Electrical Engineering or another relevant technical disciplineMinimum of three years experience in and knowledge of the design and installation of complex automation systems preferably in ships, offshore or industrial installationsExperience to work in complex project environmentsGood command of Dutch and English language, both written and verbal – German is a plusExcellent antecedents because a pre-employment security screening is a standard part of the recruitment procedurePermanent multiyear EU citizenship combined with permanent EU work visa are all requirements of the recruitment process for viable candidates, given the military nature of clients and projectsWhat we offer
