Your role
As lead engineer you are involved in projects from basic design in the proposal phase to delivery. The scope varies from small projects to large multi-million dollar projects. Projects are realized both in the Netherlands and abroad. The clients are mostly professional international companies working in the aviation, train and power & process industries. They work with international norms and high quality standards.
You have a broad and varied range of tasks at the interface of mechanical and structural engineering and deal with local customer specific requirements. You will work together with the manager engineering, manager projects, other engineers and colleagues from sales, purchasing and production. In this position you will report to the manager engineering.
Your projects
Projects are transferred during a kick off meeting from sales to the project team that you are part of. You study all documentation, such as technical specifications, requirements package, draft contracts, etc. You translate these into (structural and mechanical) calculations and technical drawings and you ensure that these are delivered on time.
On average, you spend about 75% of your time working with 2D/3D software and making calculations for a variety of projects. Large steel structures are drawn in Tekla, smaller structures in Solid Works. The remaining 25% you are busy communicating (in person/telephone/Teams/mail) with colleagues, customer and suppliers. You will come into contact with various technical subjects, ranging from material science, strength calculations, dimensioning, height adjustments, structural engineering and safety/ergonomics.
Depending on your ambitions and capabilities, you will visit customers and suppliers in the Netherlands and abroad several times a year, either independently or together with the projects manager, to give presentations or coordinate projects.

Functie-eisen
• Completed technical education and HBO working and thinking level;
• Experience with 3D CAD drawing, knowledge of Tekla or Solid Works is an advantage, not a requirement;
• Good command of the English language, Dutch language skills are an advantage;
• Both starters and engineers with experience are invited to apply.
