Review
For me the rise is like comparing a really sharp knife to a dull one. The rise cuts smoothly through everything, it's so direct and fast you barely have to get used to the bigger kites because you feel right where it is from the moment you first use it. Normal dacron kites are way slower less direct and don't go through the wind window the same way. It catches you instantly after kiteloops and doesn't ever stall. As a reference, I was riding duotone rebels before. The 7 rebel was as fast as my 10 rise. Now, the rise is a open C kite compared to the bow shape of the rebel. Generally speaking, open C kites have a bit less power so this 10 pulls about like a 9. However, since its so fast its way easier in less wind to generate more power. What also shouldn't be overlooked is the aspect ratio, open C kites tend to go less high. But the leading edge is a lot thinner than possible with dacron kites. And the aspect ratio can be made much higher without sacrificing too much stability and drift, because of the reduction in weight. This combination still makes it go massive in the right conditions.

Speed
This extra speed is amazing on every size. On the smallest sizes like 7 and 8, it takes some time to get in tune but once you have a feeling, you know you can send the kite everywhere at every moment in a jump and still get caught. On the bigger sizes it's even better, the 12 feels like a 10 or 9 and that also translates to how the wind feels. 21 knots with a dacron kite can feel like 25 knots with the rise so you'll be doing kiteloops and any trick which involves sending the kite during the jump in lighter wind and more often.

It's expensive... But if you have the money, and you appreciate a knife being sharp, to use that analogy. It really is a significant difference....

The brand
I'm riding for Ocean Rodeo so perhaps biased. However, I'd like to say that choosing this brand was not just random. I'd put a lot of thought into what brand suits me and which has the best equipment. Ocean Rodeo is really the leader in innovation when it comes to new materials, techniques and designs. Not just pushing out a new kite with a new color every year, but prioritizing innovating and engineering new products. Aluula is only the beginning if I'm to believe the rumors. I think that is really.
