Dit is de snelste Mégane ooit. De laatste R staat in dit geval voor Radicale. De Renault Mégane R26.R is gebaseerd op de Mégane F1 Team R26 en gebruikt dezelfde motor, versnellingsbak en limited slip differentieel. De grote kracht is zijn gewicht. Maarliefst 123 kg heeft de sportdivisie van Renault van het gewicht van de F1 Team R26 weten af te halen. Ook is het onderstel onderhanden genomen: dat dit zijn uitwerking heeft op de prestaties, blijkt uit het record dat de R26.R zette. Renault verbrak het ronderecord voor zijn segment waarin de Mégane valt op de Nordschleife. De radicale Mégane maakt zo'n rondje in 8 minuten en 17 seconden. De R26.R beschikt over 230 pk en 310 Nm. Daarmee kan hij in zes seconden naar honderd km/u. De topsnelheid is 237 km/u. Om de Mégane een extreem voorkomen te geven staat hij op naar keuze zwarte of rode 18-inch wielen. Verder is de R26.R voorzien van een andere spoiler, een koolstofvezel motorkap en stickers. Binnen is er gekozen voor leer- en suèdebekleding. Racekuipjes van Sabelt moeten je op je plek houden tijdens het stevigere bochtenwerk. Aanwezige gekozen optie voor mensen die af en toe het circuit opzoeken is de originele rolkooi. De productie is namelijk beperkt tot 450 stuks en er komen er maar tien naar Nederland.
Af fabriek voorzien van de enige twee beschikbare opties: airconditioning en rolkooi.
Deze uitvoering is voorzien van prachtige extra's zoals een quickshifter, turbo en air/fuel ratio meter en diverse delen vervangen voor carbon. Tweede set velgen in zwart beschikbaar.
De R26.R is getuned en de katalysator is vervangen voor een rechte pijp. Originele katalysator beschikbaar voor montage bij de keuring.
Alle documentatie is aanwezig en de distributieriem is vervangen in mei 2023.

The sports division of Renault has managed to reduce the weight of the F1 Team R26 by no less than 123 kg. The chassis has also been overhauled: that this has an effect on performance, is evident from the record set by the R26.R. Renault broke the lap record for its segment in which the Mégane falls on the Nordschleife. The radical Mégane makes such a lap in 8 minutes and 17 seconds. The R26.R has 230 hp and 310 Nm. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in six seconds. The top speed is 237 km/h. To give the Mégane an extreme appearance, it stands on a choice of black or red 18-inch wheels. Furthermore, the R26.R is equipped with a different spoiler, a carbon fiber hood and stickers. Inside, leather and suede upholstery has been chosen. Sabelt racing fairings should keep you in place during tighter cornering. Present chosen option for people who occasionally visit the track is the original roll cage. Production is limited to 450 pieces and only ten will come to the Netherlands.
